Donald and the alcoholic serial cheater SecDef last night fired several highly qualified career military top brass for no reason, making us vulnerable in the chaos as a country. Given his track record for putting in utterly unqualified and inexperienced people in high positions, this does not bode well. Article here.

As is common, Donald speaks out of both sides of his mouth, depending on his audience. Five days ago to the courts “top White House personnel official revealed that Musk’s title is “senior adviser to the president,” a role in which he has “no actual or formal authority to make government decisions himself.” Source here. Fred is responding to Hakeem Jeffries only mentioning the firing (for no reason other than being black) of fighter pilot four star general Chairman of the Joint Chiefs CQ Brown. (I posted that first in the Stack.) This is his impressive resume. From Joyce Vance (fed prosecutor for 25 years), he’s being replaced with “Dan “Razin’” Caine. Caine is a retired Air Force lieutenant general, with none of the traditional qualifications for this permission and whose return to active duty from retirement will require a legal exemption. Trump made it clear that Caine possessed the key quality he looks for in all of his top-level appointees: personal loyalty. In announcing the selection he recounted the story of meeting Caine in 2018, when Caine supposedly said, “‘I love you, sir. I think you’re great, sir. I’ll kill for you, sir.”
As I mentioned in the first item of today’s Stack, Donald also fired the top admiral of the Navy, Lisa Franchetti. These are her credentials.

Elon is pretty full of himself. Two million federal employees were told to list five things they did last week, so you will be seeing lots of lists of five things as people mock him.

Hopefully George is right and he is mercilessly mocked
